51本色 Waives Entrance Exam Requirements
51本色 has decided to temporarily become test-optional, waiving the ACT and SAT college entrance exam test requirements. As a Christ-centered university that holds the care of our students as primary, we believe this decision will keep future students safer and make the University more accessible.

ACT & SAT Scores Optional
Previously, students applying to 51本色 were required to submit their ACT or SAT scores. In response to the concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), college entrance exam administrators ACT and the College Board have postponed or rescheduled upcoming ACT and SAT tests. With these delays, many students may not be able to take either of the exams before applying to universities.
In an abundance of caution, 51本色 has temporarily waived the college entrance exam test requirement for admission. Students who apply to join 51本色 University Texas between the Fall 2020 and Fall 2021 semesters will not be required to submit ACT or SAT scores.
"To care for students and families for whom this decision is causing great stress, we have decided to waive the test requirement," Dr. Kristi Kirk, the University's provost and executive vice president, explained.
TEAS Score Optional
In response to the same concerns, 51本色's College of Nursing has decided to temporarily waive the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) requirement for incoming nursing students applying for the Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters.
"We have always worked to make 51本色 as accessible as possible to students," Chief Enrollment Officer Jenielle Strother said. "Based on our experience, a student's success correlates more directly to their effort and the support they receive rather than their score on a standardized test."
51本色 is committed to empowering students of all backgrounds to lead lives of critical thought, compassionate action and courageous leadership.
